Do lock your doors even during short if you are just going to sleep for a small time or when you are going in the hall. Always use the peep hole of the door to check who is at the door before you open it. if there is any suspicious person who you can hurt you, immediately report condition to police. If there is a theft at your place, report it immediately to the officials.

Do not let non-familiar persons to enter your place. Keep your valuables like cash, wallet or jewellery into lockers or safes; or the drawers with lock can also be considered. It is better to keep your big cash at bank rather than at home. Keep a credit/debit card to replace the need of cash with plastic money. If there are people visiting your place from the society whom you don’t resemble, always ask for their identity cards and most importantly, if you are going out of station for long time, or visiting some friends place for long, inform the security of the society or the nearest police station regarding the same.

For the safety and security point of view, always remember, you can become a victim of crime anytime. Stay alert and tuned while making ATM transaction. Try to go for ATMs located at market places. Be aware and prepared. Stand tall and walk confidently. Make brief eye contact with passersby and keep a firm grip on your property. Trust your instincts. If you feel uncomfortable in a place or situation, leave right away and get help if necessary.
